Pre-Cordial Leads

Precordial Leads (Pre-cordial means “Before-heart”) referring to the EKG leads placed on the chest, (V1, V2, V3, V4, V5, V6). These leads are used to denote the R wave progression on an EKG since they are next to the heart. This is in contrast to leads II, III, AVF, AVR, I, AvL which are leads on the arms and legs.
